Find Scholarships

Receiving scholarships is like receiving free money to go to college. They are gifts that do not have to be repaid. There are different types of scholarships, and although it may take some time to apply for them, they can save you thousands of dollars and even provide a free education.

    Types of Scholarships

Scholarships are available in a number of categories. There are scholarships geared towards particular groups, such as gender, sex, race, academic year, religion, major, and family history/background.

Merit-Based Scholarships: Merit-based scholarships can be earned by meeting or exceeding certain standards set by the scholarship-giver. They can be awarded based on academic achievement, special talent, trait, or interest, or a combination of them.

Financial Need Scholarships: Financial-need scholarships can be earned by meeting certain income standards. Applicants will need to provide documentation demonstrating financial need, some may even require the FAFSA to obtain income.
